39 💕 4/11/21 🎂🥳😎 It’s my birthday a 39 💕 4/11/21 🎂🥳😎

It’s my birthday and I’ll run if I want to 🙂🙃 #irunthisbody #ihavearunnersbody
18 ➡️ 38 I don’t love before & after pictur 18 ➡️ 38

I don’t love before & after pictures because they often imply that the after body is the better body when in reality all bodies are fine bodies BUT I like these two pictures because I know how uncomfortable I was in my own skin at age 18 and how comfortable I am at age 38.

I can see right through my fake-smile-on-the-outside-smile at age 18. I had zero confidence & didn’t love life❤️ In the picture on the right from today I can FEEL my this-is-a-real-smile. Things may be hard but I’m deeply happy on the inside...I haven’t been able to say that in a very long time 🥰 So my random rambling thoughts on my last Wednesday of 38 is that I wish I could go back for a minute and hug my 18 year old self and tell her to keep going because it gets BETTER...so since I can’t do that I’m going to tell my 38 year old self the same thing...it may feel hard now but it gets WAY BETTER I promise :)

✨ last Tuesday of age 38 thoughts: don’t look ✨ last Tuesday of age 38 thoughts:
don’t look back
you’re not going that way.
the more you run
the more you want to run.
sunshine and warmer temps
lift your soul.
39 will be BETTER THAN FINE 🥰

✨ throughout my life I’ve noticed moments that ✨ throughout my life I’ve noticed moments that I’m certain will become a memory that sticks with me. sometimes they feel really woo woo and I think to myself as it’s happening that I’m living in a memory. today I decided to go for a run while Chloe had her last cross country practice. dropped her off and then headed to the trail (sports mom multi-tasking 🙂🙃) I’ve done this before but I’ve never “run” in to the team out for a run, but today on this warm sunny day I looked up ahead and saw @chloerainebeal running towards me. we waved and did a little giggle. I finished my run and then turned around and walked till I saw Chloe on her way back. I asked if we could run the last little bit together and she said yes. it was a moment that as it was happening had already become a favorite memory.

Divorce is hard. Not seeing your kids 50 percent of the time can feel like the most miserable thing ever (even if you are so exhausted you look forward to the break and having time to be yourself and do your own thing) but if I search for the silver linings in the current state of the world - this pandemic has allowed me to spend a whole lot of time with her that I wouldn’t have been spending with her otherwise.

I get stuck in my head sometimes wishing my life had turned out differently, that I had made different decisions ... but its moments like this run that remind me that sometimes you gotta put up with a whole lotta rain to see a rainbow and feel the sun shine. Chloe has been my sunshine & my rainbow for almost 15 years ☀️ 🌈 ❤️
