✨ Chloe (freshman in HS) had her first ever cros ✨ Chloe (freshman in HS) had her first ever cross country meet this week & it truly was a dream come true. Days later I’m still filled with so much mom joy ✨ I have never pushed running on my kids, instead I led by example & hoped one day they too would think running was cool.... and as it turns out that worked! 🥰

Chloe is smarter, braver, kinder and honestly cooler than I will ever be. Being her mom is one of the greatest joys of my life 💗 love you @chloerainebeal xo

“I have been wanting to start writing about my “running thoughts” – my thoughts while running and my thoughts on running – for a while now but I was hung up on my first entry. I wanted it to be great. Memorable.
I have held off on writing it for fear that it would not live up to my expectations.
It was only today – on a run – that I realized that we place too much importance on our firsts – our first steps (which most of us probably don’t remember) – first teeth (they eventually fall out) – first car (mine was a 1988 Blue Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera) – first job (does anyone really like their first job?!) – and so on.
The important part of a first is not that it’s the best, the fastest, the most memorable, or even that you like it, It is that the first takes you to the second. Running like life is not about the first step, or even the last step, but about the steps along the way.
That being said – this is my first entry – and I’m looking forward to many more.”

🖤 one of the best decisions I ever made was taking the first step both in running & sharing my thoughts, feelings, ramblings?! online 🖤 thanks for hanging out with me on this crazy journey that I call my life ❤️ #irunthisbody #ihavearunnersbody #dreambigrunlong

✨ Let’s chat! I’ve been thinking a lot latel ✨ Let’s chat! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my WHY when it comes to running? I know why I started ... weight loss & managing anxiety/sadness ... I know what kept me going in the beginning ... a sense of self confidence and belief in myself that I hadn’t felt before ... but what keeps me going now? Why am I running? I keep coming back to this thought - running fills me up - it makes me happy and makes me feel like ME ... is it easy? NO! But it gives more than it takes ... it’s like a best friend, always there for me even when I maybe don’t deserve it ... I’ve run through the best of times and the worst of times and through it all, it has made every single day just a little bit better ❤️ I run to become (who I was born to be) ❤️

Tell me & @hokaoneone why you run!! Share your own reasons on your page using the hashtag #HOKARunClub

✨happy HAPPY Sunday! I shared about my recent @i ✨happy HAPPY Sunday! I shared about my recent @insidetracker test in my stories but wanted to talk about it here too! I took another Ultimate Test this month to see where I was at. I wrongly assumed that because I was running less that maybe some of the biomarkers I have struggled with in the past would be optimized (hello ferritin) Much to my dismay biomarkers I hadn't previously worried about, like my cortisol, were in the at risk range. Cue stressing about a stress indicator hahahaha. Anyways, this week I had a zoom call with an @insidetracker registered dietitian (@stevielynlyn) to help me review my results and come up with a game plan to improve some of the values I was worried about. I am someone who literally non stop uses google for anything & everything but self diagnosing can only go so far & sometimes you get it completely wrong because you don't know what you don't know - even if you are using dr. google. My ferritin stores aren't where I'd like them to be (Stevie said for a female runner they actually aren't that terrible) but rather than upping the amount of iron I'm taking daily she wants me to lower the dose & think of it in a slow & steady wins the race type of way. We also talked a lot about ways to help lower my cortisol, while also acknowledging that this is a stressful time for everyone - we are living through a pandemic - I just happen to also be going through a divorce during a pandemic + truly living on my own for OH THE FIRST TIME EVER - HELLO STRESS!

I love sharing/talking about products I actually like and use regularly + ones that help me live a healthier, happier and hopefully soon - less stressed life :) If you have questions - send me a DM or leave your question below!! Also feel free to give me all your stress reducing tips .... trying not to stress about my cortisol level but actually still stressing about it on the DL

#fbf to an actual dream come true - being on the c #fbf to an actual dream come true - being on the cover of the Marine Corps Marathon race booklet ✨ If you know me you know that @marinecorpsmarathon is one of my absolute favorite races 🥰 It was my first marathon, my first sub 4, my first marathon back after having kids and my first BQ. I’ve had great days there, like the time I ran a 3:13 (but didn’t know my time during the race because of a watch malfunction!) and I’ve had HARD days like the time I wanted to quit & walk off course but kept moving forward anyways and ran a 5:11 💗

MCM is moving forward with a virtual option this year with the caveat that if an in person race were to happen you have to have already registered for the virtual. Normally I’d be all excited about registering but my heart can’t handle getting excited about another race to have my dreams dashed 😏 So I think I’m not registering but also reserve the right to change my mind lololol cause I do that!

Are you signing up for the virtual? Or waiting till another year when it’s more of a sure thing!? THOUGHTS!!
